He has also been in the game since 1985 and in the games he has been involved in he is either the fastest, or the strongest among mario's gang. His pickaxe are just the hammer power up. In best case scenario he would be a Mario clone...

 

I got faith in Nintendo. They'll turn him into something good. I wouldn't be shocked if they give him a unique set that is completely different. Then make Toadette as a clone with slightly different abilities.
