They're also the original creators of Sailor Moon and they toroughly fucked up that reboot. And let's not kid ourselves. Digimon was not a good anime. It was for kids and had the same stupid trappings that we would condemn every other anime for. So any remake or continuation should be better. But Toei doesn't care. They know we will watch it regardless of Qualty because of the IP and the nostalgic feelings attached to it.
If Sailor Moon is any indication then this will be a mediocre crapfest. Maybe not worse than the original but certainly not up to the standards we've come to expect in this day and age.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
