Perhaps if you don't like the direct confrontation idea, maybe just casually slip in "hey, do you have any idea where my 4 amiibos went? I was looking for them all morning and I was wondering if you have an idea?" and such. And if he denies it with no guilty look, then I'm afraid you're out of sugar coating words. Maybe you can say that you won't be mad at him if he told the truth or something.
