LOL

skinny, I'm not tense and I do not represent NPD as "theguy" or under any other name. I am a consultant, dammit.

I simply want a certain someone to be exposed for his bullshit (exposure happens on gaf, which is one of the reasons why I feel so much at home here). I was completely unaware of his history and reason for being banned from gaf until this thread broke, so keep it coming. The more some of us know, the better. There's a reason for all of this, which will become clear in time.

NPD is not PO'd that I know of. If they are, they've not told me. All I've done is diligent research of my own based on false stories, manipulated facts and generally immature rumblings from a bunch of hacks.

The tie ratio figures were pulled incorrectly or pulled from thin air, I'm not sure which. As you probably know, you have to look at life to date sales of both hardware and software when determining attach rates. This wasn't done, hence the incorrect ratios.

Current tie ratios (provided by clients but likely spot on)
Wii = 5.2
PS3 = 4.6
360 = 7.5

Seriously, just back off and leave us well alone - you are just making yourself look stupid at the moment (and even GAF is starting to see that - your little "I'm a journalist", "no, I'm an analyst who works with NPD" etc isn't fooling anyone). Surely you have real work to do rather than sitting on a gaming forum and finding inventive new ways to replace the letter "s" with a "z".

RESPONSE: Hey, ioi (btw, love the shirt and gold chain ... real classy), I am a journalist. I graduated from The Ohio State University - with degrees in business and journalism. I consult for many companies, not just NPD. Unlike you, I don't lie. Get your damned facts straight.

As I said earlier, contact Wargo and ask him for a follow up interview. I'm DYING to find out how he would react this time around.

I will not leave you alone. It's my job to hunt down and eliminate assholes like yourself.

UPDATE 2: ioi posted:
"Wow, this guy is a real psycho. I hope NPD are aware of the kind of thing one of their top guys are posting on a public message board."

RESPONSE: Yes, I am a real psycho. This is no secret. Anyone who knows me knows I have a low tolerance for your kind of bullshit. I'm not sure the title of bulldog is warranted but it's been used to describe my personality on more than one occasion. An NPD "top guy"? I like that. I wish I worked full-time for their Games group. Then you'd really be in a world of hurt.

The research industry ... hell, anyone paying you any mind in the gaming industry is aware of a great number of things when it comes to your zite, which is something you should keep in mind, ioi. I won't stop until you clean up your act. Everytime you misrepresent, I'll be there to shed proper light on the subject. You seem to know how well the First Amendment protects Internet trolls, ioi, but you seem to forget that it works both ways.

ioi posted: Sorry you were upset about the NYT article, but posing on GAF and posting "that zite" at every opportunity is hardly the way to make people take the "senior marketing manager for the market research firm NPD" seriously, is it? And this is without all the other bullying and public slander you have thrown at VG Chartz in the past. Is this really how NPD does business?

RESPONSE: I am not the senior marketing manager for NPD or any other company for that matter. No, I'm sure this isn't how NPD does business but I am not speaking for NPD, I am speaking for myself. One thing I do know, I love your hypocrisy. Slander? That's the pot calling the kettle black. Should I start listing URLs of all of the slanderous remarks from you and your mods? I'm talking some seriously distrurbing shit here for everyone and every company that doesn't adopt your p.o.v.

I'll tell you what, if you stop misrepresentin', I'll have no other choice but to back down. Until that time, watch your back.

This guy has some serious issues.
If I'd behave like this in public while representing the company I work for I'd have some serious problems.
