That's a pretty small promise Gabe did only to get rid of the questions. During a judicial bankruptcy process, do you think there would be any resource to go patching things? Do you think the publishers would allow Valve to patch games and create DRM free copies that you could simply put on a HDD and pass to all your buddies?

Think again.

PS.: They would have to patch it. If it isn't possible and they had to provide a new DRM-free download, do you think that a bankrupted company could offer the donwload of entire Steam libraries for most of its users, with all the server infrastructure and extra load?
