In the console business?

I hate to say it, but no they won't be relevant barring massive changes.

Objectively, 90%+ of the home console business is now in the West, and Nintendo's own president (Mr. Iwata) admits he doesn't understand the Western market very well (despite making himself president of NOA too, lol).

They're just too out of touch with the marketplace to be able to effectively compete. As long as their board of directors is a bunch of 60-70 year old Japanese guys, they're not going to change.

Yes they make some great games, but that's not enough and hasn't been for a long time.

That said they'll make so much money from mobile next gen that their console/HH profits will kind of just be gravy. IMO they'll be able to make $350-$500 million a year from mobile quite easily. If they're smart they should be able to leverage Mario and Zelda into successful movie franchises too. If a movies about Lego blocks, a Donkey Kong knock-off (Wreck It Ralph), and the Transformers can be hits, Mario and Zelda can be too if done correctly.
