It's not spin, it's the definition of relevant. If they are irrelevant to you, you would not have clicked on this thread.

They are irrelevant commercially. People still talk about the Atari Jaguar/3D0/Virtual Boy, does not make them relevant. So in your mind, everything that gets talked about on VGC is relevant. Hmmmmmmmm. They may be relevant to you, to me, to other members on a VIDEO GAME FORUM, but to the world at large they are predominantly irrelevant.

WiiU is indeed relevant. WiiU is still being sold, even if not many is sold compared to the competition. WiiU had games that sold 4.77mil MK8 or SSBU 3.39mil. If thats not relevant, then what do you call companies that had games that sold less, and trust me 95% of companies sold less.

Vita is still relevant, it sold less than WiiU last year but many small third party japanese company rely on it for profits, Sony keeps a profit on it.

Atari/3DO aren't relevant because they dont make any profits nor are they big into anything else that i know of...

Example, GCN has SSBM. Its relevant because SSBM still till this day has one of the biggest fighting communitys and only is topped by maybe SF4 in competitions such as Evo, etc.
