Certainly, but remember this is the entertainment industry. The people consuming his content want him to feel attached (either positively or negatively) to the games he plays more than how much money he gets from reviewing/playing them. It makes sense that he will be viewed just as poorly for only caring about the revenue and not the actual games that Nintendo is viewed for only caring about the revenue and not the youtubers. 

True. On the other hand, under Nintendo's current policies actively discourage not only their games in general, but specific games. Almost six months later, one still cannot monetize videos of Super Smash WiiU at all, much less anything recently released. As someone who makes his living playing and discussing games which are currently popular, he's doubly disincentivized to play Nintendo games.
