For people suggesting that Nintendo won't release a new system in the same year its announced, I really don't think they or sony/ms have a strict policy regarding this. Recent trend definitely favours short announcement/launch turnover which seems to carry more hype then showing off a system 16months in advance with only tech demos at your disposal.
