Well if it makes you feel better I do think the next Nintendo handheld will be quite powerful. Like the N64 or PS4 of handhelds if you will.
With Nintendo being able to get at kids/cheap parents with smartphone/tablet devices and the New 3DS being able to stick around for a few more years to serve the "budget handheld" role ... you probably would want to go back to a higher end mentality with handhelds now to greater contrast smartphone games vs. traditional handhelds.
So you know ... I mean lets say the mobile NX chip is 350 GFLOPS or so ... throw three of those in a box and really Nintendo games would probably look just like any PS4/X1 game for the console variant.
