If the game is on the NX... There is no reason to play the wiiU version since the NX will probably be the best version. And not to mention that I will lose faith on Nintendo's ability to deliver me games on the platform I purchased so instead of buying their consoles at launch in the future, I will be buying it only when the games that I want comes out It isn't petty... It's logical and reasonable... When the NX launches, it will have games for it anyway that will make it sell where as what will the wiiU have? Nothing... Why hamper sales of software on the wiiU when you can have software sales on both the wiiU and NX? It really shouldnt even be that hard to see It is not about whether or not more people get to enjoy the game, it is about having confidence on Nintendo to deliver the games that is expected of them. A dedicated Zelda game is expected of Nintendo for every platform they release, whether it be a success or a failure and they have delivered that so far and I doubt they will stop now. If they release it on NX and wiiU, then I will lose my confidence on Nintendo because their games will then be highly dependent on the success or failure of their platform so instead of me buying their console at launch, I will no longer do so And no... They should not go for it because the NX will have both software and hardware sales regardless... This way, they can have the NX sales + wiiU sales as well instead of completely butchering the sales of the wiiU and their future console market |
Or you know NX might have the third sh*tty launch in a row for Nintendo and be the end of Nintendo as viable hardware producer.
Launch games don't magically grow on trees, what would the Wii launch window have looked like without repurposed GameCube projects?
No TP, no Super Paper Mario, no Fire Emblem ... I get
Wii Sports, Wii Play, Wario Ware, Excite Truck, and then like a 6 month gap until Mario Party for the first 10 months.
You think that would've worked out well?
What's done is done with the Wii U ... it's a sales turd, nothing is changing that now, if they can get more sales for the game and improve their launch window for the NX by using Zelda ... they should do it.
You know people cried and whined when Nintendo announced TP for the Wii too, right? They cited the same reasons as you are and I remember many were saying they'd never buy the Wii, Nintendo promised them TP on GCN, Nintendo promised them realistic Zelda for 5 years, how dare they, blah, blah, blah. Now in hindsight, they look very silly and they all ended up buying the Wii anyway, so what difference did it make.
This is a business not a daycare, you don't dictate policy based on a few emotional fans. If it's the right move business wise, then do it. It's *good* for the consumer anyway, more people will have a chance to play it. It would sell 5-6+ million copies instead of being stuck at maybe 3 million on Wii U and it would virtually gauruntee Nintendo a strong NX launch.
