I see what you're saying. Weren't Gamecube and Wii both still profitable in their 5th years? That probably would've been reason enough to extend their lifecycle. Wii U has been struggling from the start so a 4 year lifecycle probably makes more sense, despite the lack of precedent. I'm all for a new console (with the right specs and a reason to bring 3rd party support back) releasing holiday 2016, but I still would say there's a risk of alienating consumers with such a shorter lifespan. Either way, give us a few more big titles for Wii U (Animal Crossing, Fatal Frame V, Pokken Fighters, SMT x FE, etc.) and I'd be happy even without Zelda.
It'll be awhile before I figure out how to do one of these. :P
