For most people Nintendo replaced the NES in North America after only about 3 years. No one back then cried about the Super NES launching in August 1991 other than a few grumpy parents. I remember every kid was over the moon about the idea of a SUPER FUCKING NINTENDO. We were excited. I remember seeing just the freaking title screen in Nintendo Power and saying "I must own this". Your point? That was over 20 years ago...... COMPLETELY different world. Just because it launched late in the U.S. does not mean Nintendo did not support it properly.
