Feel-good animes are too rare nowadays. Give it a higher score goddammit!

Aria is also shallow and stupid as fuck but hell did I enjoy giving it a 9 for what it is.

Too rare? I disagree...seems like every other show is a slice of life/comedy and I've certainly seen quite a few that I've enjoyed more than Hanayamata.

Anyways, I think shows like this live or die based on their characters and when the characters aren't particularly interesting, I don't think it deserves a high score. Other shows get by on comedy or story or something else, but I'm not going to say a show is great if it does nothing remarkably well. It would have gotten an extra point or two if it actually turned out to be the visual feast I was expecting, but in the end, it was really just average, and as such, I gave it a 5/10.

Have you seen Hanayamata?

Of course I've seen it. I gobble shit like this up like nothing. As they are rare. I'm watching 21 animes this season and there is just one, Koufuku Graffiti.

It's not one of the best but it's nice and it looks nice, I really need those. I barely watch all these mainstream broody shounen animes anymore because they're just no fun. At least I can relax and smile at something like Hanayamata, while I can only roll my eyes and sigh at the other pseudo mature and edgy stuff that also completely fail at drama.

I gave Hanayamata a 7 because it is nice.
