The original Wii was a gargantuan success for Nintendo though, selling over 100 million consoles making it the second best selling home console ever and absolutely smashing Nintendo's previous home console sales. The Wii U is selling 50,000 units per week outside of Christmas season and the odd major Nintendo title(MK8 etc). I don't see a full 6 year cycle this time, no chance. The N64 and GCN had less than 5 years each.
