Nintendo is doing this to make money. 

They are going to make a ton of money off things like Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, New Super Mario, Amiibo, etc. on iOS/Android and they know it. 

An App starring Mario, like Puzzles and Dragons, is one thing. Actually making a mobile Mario Kart title would be quite another, and monumentally stupid.

True. You don't bring your big titles in your main competitors machine. The games will be similar to puzzle games.
