If you really feel this way, you must have hated the last generation. The PS2 was far more dominant than any of the current consoles will ever be - there certainly was no even playing field. Of course, that's assuming this isn't just a cheap shot against the Wii... right?

On topic, no, I did not anticipate the success of the Wii. I did think it would be more successful than the Gamecube, but not capture enough of the mainstream to break out and be a sales phenomenon. Once the generation actually started, however, it became pretty obvious that the Wii would win. Ever since March of 2007 (when it became clear that the PS3 Euro launch was not going to propel it past the Wii) I've been completely confident that Nintendo would end the generation with the most overall sales.

PS2 and PS1 one before dominating the competition was great. BTW: I am pro-Sony. Most of the Sony fans are annoyed that Nintendo has came from no where with the success of the Nintendo Wii which has so far outsold the PS3 by 2 to 1.

LAWL.  I appreciate your honesty but you do realize that by saying PS domination is OK but Wii domination is not, with no supporting arguments, you just basically admit that your only reason for your belief is personal preference for the one that's winning (or not) ... don't you?

And I really like how Nintendo "came out of nowhere" to Sony fans when it took this gen by storm, unlike when Sony entered the video game market.  Unlike it, that is, in that Nintendo has always been around, always innovating and always with some of the best games of the era. 

As for the topic, I initially expected it do do better than the Gamecube up to twice as much; after E3 and the ingenuity and appeal became clear I expected it to do as well as the PS3; and as time went on after that my expectations for the Wii went up while my expectations for the PS3 did not.  After the Wii launched, it became clear that no one really know how high the potential went as the top was lost in the clouds.  Really, it still is.
