8th gen Nintendo published titles, could Nintendo support themselves with a unified concept?

Short answer - yes. At least for Nintendo fans it would be OK. 

But they'd need more diversity than that. But since they don't have to make 2 Smash Brothers, 2 Mario Karts, 2 Mario 3Ds, 2 Mario 2Ds, etc. per generation ... they could free up teams to work on new ideas/concepts too.
