It's an already stablished franchise or a new franchise that sold millions and got a lot of media attention.

When a developper say a project is big, he often means in terms of scope and amount of work. Not necessarly sells or media attention.

I think people should really lower their expectations. Because it may also be a port of an old game that is not relevant anymore, we got a lot of those from third parties on WiiU

How is Project Cars bigger than Mass Effect 3 then?

ME3 is one of the biggest game ever made. All I'm saying is that when Tantalus says "big", stop thinking big as in big game. It's a big project for Tantalus, so how can Project Cars can be a bigger project thant ME3 or Deus EX?

Well for starter it will not be an old game.

Maybe it's also because they have more time to work on this game.

Maybe it's because the content in the game is really big. 

They said bigger because in their point of view, it is bigger, but that doesn't mean for you it is bigger.
