There's no PSP/Vita or Microsoft handheld likely to worry about in the future, so Nintendo can contrast themselves to the iPads/cheap Android tablets by offering much meatier gaming experiences that can be shared for home play on a whim too. That proposition at least makes some sense and differniates them in the portable space.

Issue with that is, streaming console games to tablets or phones eliminates much of the sales potential for them.

Also it would take a massive investment on software to give it a chance at market success, but the risk could really hurt them if the hardware pulls a wiiu.

It woudn't be streaming, take the streaming stuff of the Nvidia product out, I'm just talking about mobile tech. I'm talking about the handheld itself being able to run ports of even PS4 games (scaled down) if a developer really wanted to do it.

A Nintendo handheld with ...

ALL Nintendo games (Mario Galaxy 3, 3D Zelda, 3D Metroid, etc.) + some big gun Japanese IP like Final Fantasy XV, Dragon Quest XI, Kingdom Hearts 3, Resident Evil 7, Monster Hunter 5 (exclusive) and maybe even some Western PS4 ports like Call of Duty ...

Would be interesting.
