Iwata has postulated that too referening the Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire remakes and Majora's Mask 3D as in that the people who were younger when they bought those games during their initial release (circa 2000) are now grown adults and driving the business for their remakes.

I do wonder if the next Nintendo handheld may be aimed initially more at teens/adults. I've noticed this too with Amiibo, pretty much all the people I see buying Amiibo are 20/30 year olds, I haven't seen even one kid buying one.

They have to have a good launch title though to make that work, Nintendogs + cats on the 3DS wasn't enough to justify a $250 price point.

I do think Nintendo can get away with a $250 handheld, but there has to be a good reason for it to be that price (ie: it has to be quite powerful) and there needs to be stronger titles available at launch.
