Part IV is a little odd, because I don't particularly like it. It almost felt a fan-fiction to me because all the characters drop their conflicts and band together to fight a common evil. Sure, that's interesting but I felt Part IV was rushed and anti-climatic (Seriously, they spoiled the identity of BK way before you even fight him in the endgame!). While I can see why people think that RD is fantastic, I just think that RD is a mash-up that doesn't quite glue together.

The reason I don't have any issues with Part IV isn't because its narratively perfect (it isn't), but because I don't place high value on Fire Emblem plots in general. Even the best ones involve the mightiest empire(s) on the continent(s) single-handedly falling to a dozen or so fighters led by the prince of some mid-sized and fallen country. The Dawn games' version of mixing it up was to make the hero into a mercenary instead of a prince.

I generally agree though that Radiant Dawn's plot was poorly paced.
