It means in multiplayer games you have your own screen that shows your perspective. It's like split screen but both players have a full screen to themselves. I found it most useful in COD. You can't just look at the other half of the screen to see where your opponent is shooting from. Very akin to playing others online only you don't need two systems to do it.
