Zelda Wii should use a simpler control scheme and a different design

I'll admit that there were a lot of unused items in the game *cough cough the top and wand cough cough* but many of them only had limited direct applications and numerous tangetial uses, such as the ball and chain being a great way to deal with those Redead guys.

More than reducing the items to a handful, I feel that more effort should be put towards developing items that have more uses and can be combined with other items for differing effects.

the use of the metal boots was excellent in Twilight Princess, though I can't remember if they were used in tangent with the hookshot like they had been in Wind Waker, where using the hookshot would commonly move Link to whatever target he hit, but if he wore teh boots, he could pull heavier targets to him instead.

I think the ball and chain actually is a good change from the Biggoron hammer, but still needs fleshed out a bit, Like being able to extend the range while you swing it, and have it wrap around corners if you did it right. Also you could have it used as an anchor if you were on raft.

the hookshot could have its capabilities improved by allowing you to rappel if you're against the wall, or swing if you're on the end of a ledge like how the claw in windwaker worked.
I liked the idea of being able to use the hookshot with a second hookshot, but i think that could have been increased to allow you to use other items while holding the hookshot as well, such as the lantern, your sword, a bomb, obviously not the bow and arrow, but maybe even the ball and chain, in case you have an object that requires even more weight than just the boots alone

Ultimately, I agree that it always seemed to end up bombs, arrows, and hookshot were just about all you used, but rather than limit the game to just this, I think you should be encouraging the use of items that have teh potential to be more multifaceted, and also trying to find new items that can be used in a variety of ways.
