Not all games were released late, many of the games ported weren't niche (they were generaly successful on other platforms), and you exagerate the quality problems.
I actually do believe more polished ports could have helped sales a bit, but they were still going to bomb. That was simply inevitable with the Wii U audience.
Let me give you an example. Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes did well on Playstation consoles and modest/poor on Xbox. The Xbox ports aren't bad, the 360 version actually performs better than the PS3 version and X1 version is similar to the PS4 version with a lower resolution. The quality of the ports isn't the issue, its the audience. That's the same issue 3rd parties are having with Wii U, many don't do what that audience wants. The primary reason people buy Wii U is for Nintendo games.

Name a third party Wii U game that was on time, not gimped, and mainstream.

A notable game you won't nitpick for reasons the average consumer doesn't care about? How about Injustice. Granted the DLC was late. That game bombed pretty hard on Wii U.
I bet Wii U would have a more signficant core audience if they bundled core games. Instead, Wii U has an audience that primarily just wants Mario. I guess that's what happens when you bundle Mario games year after year... after year.

We're just going in circles now. We could keep at this for the next 10 pages, but that doesn't sound like much fun, so I'm gonna take my leave.
