They did both. But Metroid games are about isolation, voice acting has no place in that. Ironically they got one of the best female voice actors for the Metroid Prime Trilogy, but used a nobody for Metroid: Other M. To be fair Metroid Fusion also gave Samus a voice, but much more limited and better (inner monologues during elevator rides). I'd be ok with future Metroid games having such voice acting. |
I see, but I still strongly feel that Samus and Link should have a voice and a stronger personality to fit into their world (giving how Samus and Link are already established people in the world) and just not a blank slate for us to immerse ourselves in, that's what games with (deep) character custimization and MMORPGs are for. It might be a bit too late at this point (especially with LoZ) however.
