Yea makes sense! If you are gonna start pirating, you should be prepared to face things such as this! Although, I do wish companies would have a better method of dealing with piracy than just ban them cause imo, banning won't solve anything but rather encourage the pirate to never buy another game on that system ever again...
So instead of banning, imo, they should let the pirates keep the games they paid for (which they will get back anyway cause they are pirating the games) and let the pirates continue to be able to buy games from the companies' online stores and etc but make sure that the pirates can't play games online so that they can't use the hacks in order to win online matches. And since its clear that Nintendo and other companies can detect which systems are pirated, I don't think it will be too hard to do...
Cause I really see no point in banning them other than Nintendo themselves losing some sales... Yes, if you are pirating a system, there is a high chance that u won't be buying games but at the sametime, even if a small fraction of piraters buy games from time to time, that is still better than nothing
But oh well
