Well the average gamer knows the Wii U exist. Nintendo just hasn't done a good job at making them want one.

Nintendo's focus mostly seems to be its base. X1 and PS4 are aiming for a wider audience, not just their base.

On the second, I agree.

On the first though, I still routinely run into people who don't even know Wii U exists or that it's a new system, not just a Wii add-on. Their marketing has been terrible in this regard.
