Casual centric platform gets casual games for it. What's the problem here really?

Nintendo fans can't have it both ways here, if Nintendo wants more so-called "hardcore" third party games they should be a console specifically aimed to that market and take the lead by also making more hardcore games themselves and proving that those games can sell in big numbers on their platform -- like GoldenEye did on the N64.

You can't on one hand champion the decision to go with a more causal approach, but then get upset when third parties follow suit by offering more casual games, rather than the more violent/action-oriented titles on other platforms.

Half of Nintendo's own first year Wii U lineup was casual/mini-game fare, their entire marketing of the system was to the family/kids/casual demographic, the system had the Wii brand for crying out loud, yet third parties are somehow at fault for making games they think are suitable for said platform?

YOu know it;s time to question your sanity when you're defending a publisher who's been known to nickel and dime it;s customers, deliver completely bug filled games while charging mad like prices for said broken games and even ones within the games itself.

I've noticed your "go big or go home" mentality (from profiling) along with how everything should go mobile, you actually remind me of someone from the Escapist forums who takes the exact same stance and talks the same as you do, which is why I'm going to ask you this like I did him;

Are you sane?, are you aware that you're defending a publisher, a company known for acts of greed and acts of being anti consumer and yet you right here are siding with them and not the consumer, the one who makes the business what they are?.

How is it "anti-consumer" to make a casual game on a casual platform?

If you're going to be angry with these types of games, then be angry also at Nintendo for making a platform aimed primarily at these types of experiences. That is the crux of the Wii brand, that is the type of software it is designed to attract.

iPhone users don't get angry at developers for making casual games, because they know that's what the iOS platform is about primarily.

But for some reason some people love to deride third parties for making violent "dudebros" games, but then turn around and complain when they don't get those same games on the Wii/Wii U even though the design priority for both of those systems is to get casual gamers.

If anything Ubi Soft gave Nintendo more of the time of day than they deserved. The Wii U looked like a dud from the moment they unveiled it, trying to ride out the dying fad of gimmick controllers to appeal to casuals on the console side, yet they still opted to support it with quite a few games and even an exclusive FPS.
