Yes, that's also exactly how I think, there were no updates with mentionable improvements for months now, and those stability updates don't do much either.

But I personally actually don't miss any features, but, of course, there are still long-promised features that have to come and some are waiting for them eagerly. So, yes(!) IMO the PS4 is getting new features too slow. The sooner the better.

Instead, what really bugs me is the current state of the system software. It is buggy. It is quite often sluggish (e.g. there are almost every time stutters going from left all the way to right, but you also experience stutter just while navigating between games, apps etc.). What's New section is sometimes just not loading. If you select a game on the home screen and want to go down to the game's hub that often does not work immediately because the OS first waits until those screens on the right has been loaded, and that can take up to 2-3 seconds.
Also the caching is quite terrible. For example, if you go to "Library" and browse a little while going down and up you will experience that the pictures e.g. for games have to be reloaded everytime once they are not on the screen anymore.

Then, the message system...it is still broken...now already for months.

The PS Store. Yes, it works much better that on the PS3. But the fact is that their design choice with those moving backgrounds has been not a great one. You are lucky if they load fast and move along while you browse. Apart from that, the browsing is still not that smooth and intuitive.

Going back to the PS3 and its OS + UI feels actually great (but that shouldn't be the case!). Yes, the PS Store is much worse than the PS4's, but it is incredible how smooth and perfect the PS3's OS works: there are no bugs, no stutters at all. It is also fast.

But there are more problems with the OS and UI of the PS4 that should have been ironed out by now.
So, yes new features are coming too slow, but bugs and overall performance of the OS/UI should be top priority.
