Wait Rowling sold the rights for about $1.5 million US to Warner Bros.?
Holllllllly sheeeeeeeit, lol.
Take about getting low balled, though I assume she got a cut of the movie gross?
She was right to turn down Nintendo though if they wanted complete rights to the franchise as a whole, that would've been silly as Nintendo is just a game company.
EDIT: Apparently the deal was 1 million pounds for the rights to the first four movies. So I'm guessing she obviously got a much fatter take of the later films.
But yeah in hindsight, Nintendo should just throw $5 million at her and grabbed the rights to the entire franchise ... they missed out on a goldmine.
