No not even close. Sony has 10.9m PS+ accounts. That equates out to 545 million in revenue per year. A number that's only going to go up as the PS4 continues to sell very well. Nintendo would have to sell roughly 42m Amiibos per year to match that revenue. Which clearly isn't going to happen. Money from Amiibos is never going to even come close to the money generated from PS+/Gold. Which is why Nintendo should definitely consider locking multiplayer behind a paywall next gen. People aren't going to like it, but they'll pay it.
