The market for that is fairly small.
Even in airports, I travel a lot for work, I see virtually no dedicated handhelds anywhere, even with kids it's all tablets/phones they're playing games on.
The truth is I think no one really 'needs' to play a hardcore game on the road. If they want to play a really deep game, that's what the home console and 50 inch screen is for.
Portable gaming is just something to eat up a few portions of downtime, but I will say though people seem to get addicted to smart device games too, I know a couple of girls hooked on Candy Crush, even on an airplane, they'd rather play Candy Crush than Mario 3D Land or something.
In the past you had to buy a dedicated handheld if you wanted to play on the road at all, but that isn't obviously the case anymore.
