MMOs and Pointless Quests

Just looked information on that quest and I have to vehemently disagree. You are just looking at things the wrong way. If you look at quests as dispensers of loot, than obviously you will run into issues. However, this quest in particular seems to do everything right. It gives you something different and out of the ordinary to do, it presents you with consequences of your past actions, it sheds more light on characters and places in the game, etc.

The problem is that quests are seen as a means to an end, instead of being seen as an interesting part of the game. I'd say the fault here is solely in both of your ways of thinking...
