What the hell happened to Miroku and what was his goal ? It seems he wanted to destroy the world for some reason, although we don't really know why. Also, there were hints that he is still alive, but that was left purposely ambiguous.

Why is Akihito the bearer of Beyond the Boundary ? I don't know

What was Mirai's main objectives or purpose in the series ? She was recruited by Izumi to destroy BTB...that much was clear.

What became of Izumi after Hiroomi finding out that she harboured a youmu within her and her past connection to Miroku ? It seems that she was forced to step down as family heir and is now somewhat of an outcast in the family.

So many things I want to find out ...

First of all, I just want to make it clear that I didn't even really like this show, so my defense of it is a bit half hearted.

Anyways, I don't think it is the shows job to answer every question the viewer has. This allows for the possibility of a sequel as well as keeping an air of mystery. There is some sweet spot though, where the viewer is satisfied. For this caliber of show, I was satisfied enough with the answers it gave. Overall, it explained character motives well enough (with the exception of Miroku perhaps) and made the begining of the show make a lot more sense.

What was the purpose behind Izumi hiring Mirai to kill Beyond the Boundary ? In other words what was her motive aside from the fact that she's a spirit warrior ? 

I wanted to know happened to her specifically after the incident transpired, that much about her been exiled from the Nase clan was obvious but what about her current objectives and whereabouts ? 

There's a fine line between questions and plotholes ...
