They could of made a HD remake of Galaxy 1 & 2 and bundle them for $50. This can be handle by outside studio and boost software available to WiiU. There so many games that could benefit from the HD treatment. 2. WiiU consoles colour scheme... Black and white??? Nintendo has gone down this path before and it has result in short term increase in hardware sales. More limited edition WiiU's that would boost sales and put the focus on Nintendo WiiU if only to generate some news. 3. WiiU Slim or WiiU redesign... rather then change colour release a new redesign WiiU. WiiU 250-500gb anyone? 4. Every new game should have get a limited run WiiU bundle, software sales consoles and what better way to boost sales then to try to entice new customer with a limited edition bundle. 5. Price cut.... MSRP has been $299 since August 2013, sure price cut is not the only solutions but it's certainly not going to hurt. The only way to boost softwares sales is by increasing the current install based. Lost revenue on hardware is quickly made up in periphiral and softwares. 6. More software, sure Nintendo by now has completely lost third party support, It's time for Nintendo to build a staple of 2nd Party partnership studios. Nintendo cant make enough software to prevent software drought and there enough struggling studios in Japan and around the world that could use some security that nintendo can provide by funding their game development. 7. Better use of Nintendo Direct, I think there should be a monthly Nintendo direct that focus on every WiiU and 3DS games coming out in the near future. These Nintendo direct should no longer feature Iwata and his broken english (I'm not saying drop Iwata entirely just doesn't have to have him do every Nintendo Direct) , Nintendo has large marketing such as the Tree House and Bill Trinen that would be much better a conveying the Monthly Nintendo Direct message. Let marketing do their job. 8. Capcom.... buy them enough said.9. Bring more Apps to the Nintendo WiiU, allowing for more diversity will have people using their WiiU more often. Give people reason to use their WiiU every day will increase interest in the WiiU and may generate positive word of mouth advertising. 10. Recapture the casual market, Xbox one and PS4 aren't really focusing on this market segment either. |
3. & 4. Give it the "New 3ds" treatment, a bit more RAM like half a gig., increase the clock speed of CPU & 64GB of internal memory. Make a more slick gamepad & some special editions like a Zelda, Starfox edition.
6. & 8. As you said there quite a few talented struggling companies in Japan & overseas that could be making games for 3DS & WiiU. I mean, FPS were a part of the success of N64, we had Golgeneye, Perfect Dark, Turok, Duke Nukem, Quake, Doom, 007 The world is not enough... even the GameCube had plenty of them: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Nintendo_GameCube_first-person_shooters
Where are they on WiiU??? Now that they are more popular than ever, we have 2 COD games & Zombie U which is more a survival game than a frantic FPS! Nintendo should do something about this issue, I hope Retro has been hard at work on a new Metroid First Person Adventure/Shooter game including a Bounty Hunter/Alien filled on-line multiplayer mode!
We have 1 racing game NFS, with Project CARS coming whenever if ever...
Nintendo should spend a bit of their war chest & buy Level 5, Platinum & 51% of Capcom, on top of that they should have 1 more american or european studio dedicated to making FPS games!
7. Have Iwata only for big reveals & let the people from the Tree House do the presentations, they did a fantastic job @ last E3, I would have liked for Nintendo to build on that after E3 was over, the directs are too bland, the humour touchs from the Media event were great, why didn't they build on that???
The last point & a crucial one I would had is MARKETING!!! Nintendo marketing has been abysmal for the last 4/5 years, like it's Oprah doing Nintendo's marketing, it does not work with gamers. Do this kind of marketing for Wii Fit or Brain Training, not for Mario Kart!!!
Marketing is expensive but Nintendo has to be in the front row, they need clever & appealing marketing that has to be seen!!!
I'm a huge Nintendo fan & I will always buy Nintendo consoles & games, but God bless my PC where I can play my racing sims & FPS + the occasional adventure game...
