| S.T.A.G.E. said: Actually you're wrong. Both hack n slashes are essentially the same in their core fundamental existence. The difference is that one balances itself for presentation, while pacing itself to a narrated story to tell a story and the other is more arcadey with a story which is there, but really is less understood than the endearing nature of the main protagonist. Platinum is not known for their storytelling ability and even as unrelatable as Kratos is the pacing of God of War is some of the best in gaming and has not been challenged until Star Wars the Force Unleashed and Dantes Inferno which both took God of Wars presentation and Gameplay formula. Bayonetta and God of War are both great games, but one is less about story and more about gameplay and the other is a blending of both in harmony for a unified experience. Reviewers know by now to ignore Bayonettas story because Platinum is known for being over the top and ridiculous with their stories. This is exactly why Microsoft is doing that for them with Scalebound while they work on the gameplay. |
Sooo...what am I wrong about exactly? You sure have a knack for writing a lot of words without actually saying anything.
PS: I thought we already agreed that GoW doesn't have a great story, just some cool lore, and that Bayo is a more interesting character than Kratos. You just really like Greek Mythology, which is fine, but that doesn't mean that GoW has an objectively great story
