What a difference two years makes, what was impossible at launch is now available for purchase. Nintendo backtracks on its Wii Gamepad support and future downloadable Wii titles will benefit from it.

But what about those of us who already own those Wii retail games, can we also use the Gamepad? And what about Wii's own digital content, will Nintendo allow users to play the compatible CC titles on the Gamepad? Or will they even let them make their own Wii WiiU shortcuts?

Remember that all of the Wii's VC, much richer and diverse than WiiU's, include CC support. So you could have access to all of that via the gamepad and its control. Only missing feature from WiiU's own VC would be save states and resolution(?), but you'd have access to N64 and even C64!

Here's a list of all the CC Wii compatible content: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_games_that_use_the_Classic_Controller

I was a bit miffed when this didn't happen at launch (sounded like a selling/upgrade feature to me), and although late Nintendo is getting to it. I just hope they don't only want to charge for it just as they did with VC. I already own said content and would like to benefit of these features as well.
