But it probably won't imo considering how some of the established franchises are actually struggling to break 1 million which I highly doubt a "new IP" will do. And the thing is, I doubt that Splatoon will end up being this "pick up and play" sorta game in the same way that smash does because there is just soo many mechanics to the game that once people start playing, will get really good at exploiting. Like, there are platforms which if u shoot at, they will get bigger and there are wires which, if you fill them with paint, you can turn into a squid and travel on. This is much, much more of a technical game than cod and this isn't as "pick up and play" as smash bros where if your a noob, you can just pick charizard and spam side + b or pikachu and spam down + b. Splatoon may look simple but it really isn't and you can certainly see that if you followed all the trailers |
That's fine
(I rarely bet anyway)
I don't get the whole "new IP" thing meaning it can't sell well. Most games don't peak with the first in sales but that doesn't mean sales will be below average.
Splatoon might not be pick up and play but it looks like that to me. Even if it's a bit difficult, you can certainly have a more advanced pick up and play. Again, easy to understand, hard to master. I already know when I get the game I'm going to be playing with some people who don't play games much. I guarantee they will understand the concept of "shoot and swim"
We are just looking at it from different perspectives, either one of us could be right
(obviously)
