It may be a 1-2 year old game... But it's still the new Mariokart. And yes offcourse.. they are selling to the existing userbase to. As time goes.. a higher and higher procent of a games (whit good legs) sale, will be to new owners
And just for the record.. You know that way more than 50% of people who will enter this console gen.. will not look at what year a game came.. but if they will play it? |
i agree that late gen buyers won't care for the year of a specific games released.
late gen buys, imo, have two main concerns.
1. what did my friends and faimly have? (wiiU is losing this one btw).
2. what is the entire library look like?
and number 2 is where wiiU's best game being over a year old is a hinderance. this quarter ps4 is getting the order 1886, bloodborne, battlefield, evolve (late gen buyers don't care about 1st vs. 3rd party), planetside 2, dying light, and all those indie games like grim fandago ect. wiiU is getting splatoon and mario party i believe. wiiU doesn't exist in a vacuum,.. it has competition. nintendo's first party output can't even keep up with the amount of third party games on playstation and xbox and if the size of the library on non-nintendo consoles is 4-5x larger and covering a better variety of genres than on nintendo's console even great games like MK, smash, and zelda are easy to pass on.
being old isn't a big deal. being old and most recent is...
