Forums - Nintendo - 3DS/Wii U Q1-Q2 2015 lineup

After today's Direct, we now have a more complete understanding of Nintendo's release schedule for the first half of the year.

3DS

Feb-New 3DS XL, Majora's Mask 3D, Monster Hunter 4

March-Codename STEAM, Fossil Fighters Frontier

April-Xenoblade Chronicles 3D

May-Puzzles & Dragons Z+Puzzle Dragon Mario Edition double pack

Wii U

Feb-Kirby Rainbow Curse

March-Mario Party 10

May-Splatoon

Also some digital titles for both like Wii games on Wii U, Mario & Donkey Kong for 3DS/Wii U, Pokemon Shuffle for 3DS, and a couple new waves of Amiibo.

So how does the lineup look? Personally I'm happy with it, only complaint is I wish Wii U had one more retail game, either Yoshi's Woolly World or Mario Maker, but overall looks pretty nice to me.

In terms of selling hardware, 3DS should do very well, WiiU should be down, Donkey Kong and Mario Kart are far bigger than Kirby, Party and Splatoon.

Yep its really GOOD for both!!
The drought of games for both system wont matter to me, since i still haven't bought tonnes of games.

But im shocked how they put MM 3D and MH4 release at the same day. Could have put one of them in April.

Not really, the WiiU sales should be more stable than last year, all of its biggest titles are already released (SM3D World, Smash, MK8...) or are going to be released this year (Zelda U, Xenoblade X...). Also, Splatoon looks like it's going to be a big hit, everyone likes it, it should sell well even if it doesn't move that many consoles.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Smash barely did anything for sales over the holiday (marginally up in some places, flat in most, down in others (Japan) by late summer WiiU was down in some places (US) yoy despite MK. Don't know how you suppose they will contribute to the baseline this far out.

ZeldaU and Xenoblade are veeery unlikely to be Q1/Q2 ......

Splatoon gonna be a big hit? Huh? I'd wait for it to release before talking about it being a big hit.

3DS looks great, better then expected.

Wii U is meh, Spatoon looks more and more like a potential franchise the more I see it. This recent trailer gave me Jet set radio feels ^_^

I thought X was due in spring for Japan but I guess its a Q3. They might as well do a worldwide release and maximise marketing effects. It looks amazing, will definitely outsell the original.

2015 is going to be a killer year! Can't wait!

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Wait, no 3rd party game on 3DS?? Or is this just Nintendo published lineup?? Coz that doesnt seem right

Edit: Oh and if Yoshi and Mario arent 1st half of 2015 on WiiU then it has a terrible lineup and doesnt deserve sales until post E3

Just want to point out that Xenoblade is coming out April 29th in Japan.

Well it has the benefit of a boost from one region then, what's the actual odds on it releasing Q2 in the west?
