I watched a bit of it before, I don't remember a whole lot but I do remember it looking really easy. At least at the beginning, everything levels up really quickly. It seems like the game is designed to properly end, so I think it will be less grindy.

Also you get XP from battles now. You don't fuse monsters, but I think you can choose to fuse eggs (rather than hatch them) for a big influx of exp?

Oh yeah, and when monsters evolve they keep either their level or their XP (I don't remember which). So they at least won't be reset back to level 1. I'm pretty sure skill levels aren't a thing, either.

I see. I've watched how it plays and saw the world and all, but did not dig into those types of details. 

It's leveling is not similar to Age of Ishtaria + XP from battles. I like that.
