The Last of Us was revolutionary. It did so many things emotionally that other games didn't. It really properly attached the narrative to the game design, no different set of rules for cut scenes and gameplay, it is just a special game
Left Behind went even further. It combined the more indi heavy story style with actual gameplay. If you look at the much praised Walking Dead episodic games, they have next to no gameplay to go with their story. The Last of Us managed to achieve fantastic deep story telling weaved right into the fibre of the gameplay. It's just amazing. In my opinion...
BUT! I feel it needs to make more of an impact on the industry as a whole and it hasn't had enough time to really do that.
If you were asking me what the most revolutionary game of the century is, I'd go CoD 4. but if we're just sticking to exclusives, then I'm going Halo. Bringing FPS to the console has changed everything
