The wii u is a great complimentary console. But on its own it just can't satisfy anyone but the most hardcore nintendo fan or a casual gamer who is okay with buying 2 or 3 games a year. Plus there are some people who just dont enjoy nintendo games that much and for them the choice is even easier. I bought a wii u as my console this gen just because the ps4 and xb1 offer me nothing since they overlap with the PC library so much, but if I was going one console only there is no way in hell I would even consider the wii u as a choice. It is a nice party console when I have friends over but I hardly touch it otherwise.
