I think it's a combination of both typically.

What about when a console is only sold with one or different bundles? If I remember correctly when PS4 hit Japan you could only pick up a system that included Knack. And if my memory is still not further lacking I think the same deal was with Ninteno, they had Wii Sports only bundles, WW, for a long time. And then the Wii Sports bundle became their basic system-thing when they released other bundles.

So to get on topic, yes it would be nice to see a chart that would divide it up, but it's not really necessary at the same time. And I think it would be much more difficult to estimate the exact number of bundled games and not, so in the end it would just be guestimates.

And most systems have at least one game bundled, or some other stuff. I think the basic-systems sell far less than what the bundled ones do. Especially further into the generation. At the beginning perhaps some people pick up the "naked" system to save a few bucks, but further into the generation bundles get more sales. I could be wrong though. Myself I have never bought a system that was not bundled with a game.

I don't know, it's a really subjective thing, in my opinion. Pretty much everyone picked up a Wii because of Wii Sports, and that may very well have been the case for Knack in Japan (I don't know about that one though). To take away bundled sales would just be too much of a hassle for not much payoff. People would only really use it as console war bait and I feel like we all have enough of that as it is, lol.
