True. But Nintendo did nothing to support their partner.

While Sony and specially MS not only localize their games to our language and even manufacture their products in the country.  Nintendo essencially do nothing.

Nintendo actually does not KNOW what the partner does with the brand (we asked the official representative for an interview, and the response is always "is their decision, they define the price, they handle the promotion"), and here in Colombia everything is very bad, twitter and facebook updates stopped around october, there was no promotion for the holiday sales, consoles and games are more expensive than those of the competition, they don't sale amiibos at all, they don't bring third party games and so on.

The distributor chooses which games to put in stores (and the taste is very bad, not a single copy of Batman: Arkham games but plenty of units of Planes and ESPN sports), they choose how to promote the console which in the case of my country that means that there are more Wiis connected to TV displays that Wii Us, and they choose how to handle the brand which is painfully bad as they hired another company as community manager, mentioning games that never came to the console, cancelled projects, useless trivia data and which does not answer customer questions.

The distributor is very bad for the region in general, so maybe they can get a new one that improve things for Brasil, specially one that works more closely with them. Thins like manufacturing the products in the country is too much to ask for, but believe me that better prices and good advertisement could do wonders for the brand, not only in Brasil but for the full continent.
