Yes, specifically TVs. Monitors follow different refresh rates (and other things). LCD TVs usually want to have high refresh rates to decrease motion blur (a problem that LCD displays suffer badly). Of course, it's only useful for sports and gaming since it will give the soap opera effect in films and most TV shows. Plasma was king by not having this issues.
