Depends on how they did it; if they essentially made a Metroid Prime tha same as the GCN/Wii ones just with graphics on the level of, say, Black Ops II, that would not be ambitious. However, if they made a fresh take that was as evocative, daring, and spared-no-expense as the original Prime was for its era, that would be.

I too would like to see them handle a new IP, but honestly, I expect that crummy Diddy Kong Racing rumour to be true. What a waste that would be.

What is funny is that the original Diddy Kong Racing was unique: adding an adventure element in a racing game.

Besides, that ''crummy rumor'' was for Monster games to develop DKR2 with Retro helping out on the side. Someone later on Neogaf said something different. I don't believe either rumor, but I can see Monster games develop such a project. Even if Retro were to develop DKR2, I don't see that as a waste unless the game sucks.

There are far more worse things they can make than anything DK related, people.

Monster Games would be a great pick to do Diddy Kong Racing, they made the fun Excite Truck and Excite Bots arcade racers on Wii.

But Retro? They're one of Nintendo's greatest assets, there's no point on getting them to make a game that any of their 1st party teams could do.
