It's playing out as I'd expected. From the second I saw the Wii U (or didn't see it, since they only showed the controller) I knew it was going to be a flop, and in the run up to the launch of the PS4 and Xbone it was pretty clear from Microsoft's disastrous PR that they had been living in some kind of a bubble and were headed for a serious drubbing. Even long before that (2009-ish) while Sony was struggling to right their ship and trying be more receptive to consumer demands,  Microsoft was starting to look a little too pleased with themselves and, aside from the Kinect gambit, rested on their laurels with Halo, Gears, Halo, Fable, Halo, Forza, Halo, Halo... so this didn't surprise me at all.
