Wired controllers offer less input lag than wireless controllers because the input is being read by a direct feed. In fighting games, that is paramount. Most casual players won't even notice, but core players can feel if their input is delayed by even a single frame.

Losing a match because your controller could not keep up with your reaction time can be incredebly frustrating to hardcore fighting game players.


Lol this is just wrong as far as I know. Wireless controllers present little to no lag certainly not enough for people to even notice it. Not to mention everyone saying use the wii u pro controller which is wireless. Many people play other fighters that require faster reflexes just fine with wireless controllers as well. Let me see if I can find this post that debunked the whole "wireless controller lag" thing.
